About Me

I’m driven by curiosity, my interests range everywhere from writing to field audio recording. Taking cues from my professional journey, I try to engage in activities that allow me to both work with others and explore the world around me (or sometimes create worlds of my own!)

Comics

Even when I was a kid, I was always enthralled by storytelling. After a chance encounter with one of my favorite writers, Kelly Sue Deconnick, I decide to try my hand at comic writing. With the help of the incredible Jordan K Gaza, I was able to create issue 1 of my first comic Glum.

This was a great exercise in script writing, but it was really my collaboration with Jordan that made this project special to me. They were able to bring my words to life in a way that still leaves me speechless at times.

Essays

My work with the Grand Valley Lanthorn, and Vault of Midnight gave me a love for essays. I release these every so often so check back here for any new pieces!

Sound & Music

While I’m not currently creating music, it has always been a large part of my life and writing process. I still keep my Last.Fm account fairly up to date, and always find myself making playlists for my family and friends.

Additionally, I’ve begun the hobby of field recording. I’ve always been interested in sound and the art of sound recording, and have decided to take my interest a step forward and started recording sounds from various places. Check back here for some of the sounds I capture on my adventures!

My latest playlist on Tidal. An electronic/house mix I made that’s perfect for summer evenings. Tell me what you think!

2-bit Photography

When I was around 9 years old my mother bought me my first Game Boy Camera. Over the years it bounced around from shoebox to shoebox and then out of sight. More than twenty years later, I found that cartridge and placed it into a newly restored Game Boy and was met with a cartridge full of memories. Images of my (younger) parents, deceased relatives and even photos of my nephew on the day he was born were all there. This inspired me to not only share these images with my mother, but also to continue my adventure into 2-bit photography. When asking some simple questions online, I was met with an amazing community of photographers and tinkerers that I couldn’t be more grateful to know.

Here are a few of my shots both old and new. Check back here for updates on my 2-bit photography journey!
